Description

Crispy roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in a bold, sweet-and-spicy glaze made with sweet chili sauce, garlic, and olive oil. Finished with sesame seeds and green onions, this easy 30-minute side dish delivers caramelized edges, tender centers, and vibrant flavor—perfect for weeknight dinners, holiday meals, or meal prep.

Ingredients

– 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

– 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

– ¼ cup sweet chili sauce (store-bought or homemade)

– 2 garlic cloves, minced

– ½ teaspoon salt

– ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

– 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

– 2 tablespoons sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, sweet chili sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut-side down if possible, to maximize caramelization.
  4. Roast for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until deeply golden brown, crispy at the edges, and tender in the center.
  5. Remove from the oven and transfer to a serving bowl.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve warm.

Notes

– For best results, avoid overcrowding the pan, use two sheets if needed.

– To make it spicier: add ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes or 1 teaspoon sriracha to the sauce.

– Add-ins like crispy bacon, toasted pine nuts, or dried cranberries add texture and contrast.

– Can be prepped ahead: toss sprouts with sauce and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before roasting.

– Reheat leftovers in a 350°F oven for 5–10 minutes or microwave for 30 seconds.
