Ingredients

Scale

For the Filling:

  • 6 cups fresh or frozen peaches, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  2. Prepare the filling: In a large bowl, toss peaches with granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cornstarch. Spread evenly in a 9×13-inch glass or ceramic baking dish.
  3. Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, then cut in cold cubed butter until mixture is crumbly.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of topping evenly over the peaches.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  7. Optional: Dust with cinnamon or sugar before serving for extra flavor.
