Description

Cheesy Parmesan Mozzarella Bites are bite-sized, melty appetizers made with a blend of mozzarella and parmesan cheese, coated in breadcrumbs or dough, and baked or fried to golden perfection. Perfect for parties, game nights, or casual snacks, they offer a crispy exterior with gooey, cheesy centers. Serve warm with marinara, ranch, or spicy aioli for a crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s simple to make and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For coating:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • Optional: chopped parsley or oregano for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mozzarella, parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls and place on a tray. Freeze 15–20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Coat each ball in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then roll in breadcrumbs. Press gently to adhere.
  4. Baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake 15–20 minutes until golden and melty.
Frying: Heat oil and fry until golden brown, watching for crispy exterior and gooey cheese centers.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving with dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Use fresh shredded cheese for better melting; pre-shredded may contain anti-caking agents.
  • Freeze bites before frying to prevent cheese leakage.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days or freeze in a single layer for longer preservation.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5–10 minutes to restore crispiness.
  • Customize with other cheeses like cheddar, gouda, or feta; try different coatings such as crushed nuts, sesame seeds, or crushed crackers.
  • Add a drizzle of truffle oil or chili flakes for a gourmet touch.
