Description

Caramel Apple Dessert Pizza is a soft, sweet pizza-style dessert topped with tender spiced apples, a buttery streusel crumble, and a drizzle of rich caramel sauce. This easy, crowd-pleasing treat delivers all the cozy fall flavors of a caramel apple in a fun and shareable form  perfect for holidays, parties, or casual family baking.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • ½ cup hot water
  • ½ tablespoon instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour

For the Apple Filling:

  • 2½ cups diced apples
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

For the Streusel:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cold butter
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup oatmeal

For the Topping:

  • Homemade or store-bought caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: In a bowl, dissolve instant yeast and brown sugar in hot water. Add olive oil, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until smooth and elastic. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the apple filling: In a separate bowl, combine diced apples with flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Prepare the streusel: Mix flour, cold butter, brown sugar, and oatmeal with a fork or fingers until crumbly.
  4. Assemble the pizza: Roll the dough into a circle and place on a greased or parchment-lined baking pan. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the streusel evenly on top.
  5. Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust and topping are golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Finish: Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving. Slice and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Avoid over-kneading the dough to keep it light.
  • Add extra spices like cardamom or ginger for deeper flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5–10 minutes to refresh.
  • For a vegan version, use plant-based butter and a flax egg substitute.
  • For extra crunch, top with chopped nuts or a sprinkle of sea salt.
